What the Bonded Arcade is
The Bonded Arcade is a set of thirteen free games for playing together, out loud, on one phone. There’s a truth or dare bottle you can spin, a capsule machine full of questions, a box of side quests to shake, the famous 36 questions, and more. No downloads, no accounts, no ads. Open one and play.
Every game is built around the same idea as the Bonded app: the best conversations happen when you take turns, go a little further each round, and actually listen. Your progress stays on your own device in your Arcade Pass. Play a game to earn its stamp, collect titles like Brave or Deep Diver, and keep a daily streak going.
Games for couples
For a date night in, start with Spin the Bottle, our truth or dare game with clean, flirty and PG-13 settings. Swipe Duel is a this or that game where you both answer ten rounds and see how many you match. The 45-Minute Experiment walks you through the 36 questions from the famous closeness study, set by set. And when you need something to actually do, The Quest Box gives you a short side quest for tonight. More ideas live in our guide to games for couples and our date night games.
Games for friends and parties
Groups love The Point Game (most likely to, with titles at the end) and Fingers Down (never have I ever, last hand standing wins). The Question Machine has a friends setting for nights when the conversation needs a nudge, and Game Night Matchmaker picks a board game for your group in three swipes. All of them work on one phone passed around the table.
For first dates
Early on, light questions and a bit of play work better than big topics. 21 Steps climbs from easy questions to deeper ones over twenty-one answers. Text Starter writes openers that aren’t “hey”, and the Question Machine has a date setting that stays fun. Our guide to questions to ask on a first date has more.
For work teams
Melting Ice is an icebreaker game built for meetings: a question, a countdown, and a big-screen mode for video calls. The Daily Card gives the whole team the same question each day, which makes a good stand-up opener. The Deck Builder prints a deck of conversation cards for workshops and team days.
How the Arcade Pass works
Your Arcade Pass is a little scorecard that lives in your browser. Play three rounds of any game, or finish it, and you earn that game’s stamp. Every round adds a bit of XP, and some games hand out titles: Brave for five dares in a row, Deep Diver for collecting three ultra-rare questions, Quest Master for ten finished side quests, Ritual Keeper for a seven-day Daily Card streak. Your pass also counts the days in a row you visit. There’s no account and nothing to sign up for. The pass is saved on your device, so if you switch phones or clear your browser, it starts fresh.
Why playing out loud works
In 1997, Arthur Aron and his colleagues showed that strangers could feel surprisingly close after 45 minutes of taking turns with questions that slowly got more personal. The method was simple: go step by step, both people share, and nobody is put on the spot. Every game in the arcade borrows that idea, from the light-to-deep climb in 21 Steps to the rarity levels in the Question Machine.
Listening matters as much as asking. In the Bonded Research Lab’s 2026 survey of 238 people, the things that helped most when opening up were being listened to (37%) and feeling safe (27%). That’s why every game makes passing easy, and why the best way to play is with your phone face up on the table, not in your hand. You can read more in our science of connection articles.
Questions people ask
Are the games really free?
Yes. All thirteen games are free, with no sign-up and no ads. They’re made by Bonded Studio, the team behind the Bonded app.
Do I need to download anything?
No. Every game runs in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer. If you’d like whole decks to play together, the Bonded app is free on the App Store.
Is my progress saved?
Your Arcade Pass, streaks and titles are saved on your own device. Nothing about you is stored on our servers.
Which game should we start with?
For two people, try Spin the Bottle or Swipe Duel. For a group, try the Point Game. For a quiet night, the 36 questions.
